Do have a question about IT and replacement points. So if Rome is occupied would you be able to get replacaments, and if so could it be anywhere in IT? |

Another thing to remember in Italy is to keep allied corps with your IT. There is a GE combat card, Hutier, that cancels trench effects vs a stack that is entirely IT. It's also helpful to spread losses around. |

I am going after IT in my ladder game. I think the most important part is your first strike. It needs to include an attack on both Verona and Udine. Some players prefer Asiago and Udine to get a perm elim on the unit in Maggiore, but I favor taking the trench in Verona since it is key to the whole area. You don't have to push into France to have a huge success, you just have to safely conquer Rome and the rest of the boot. That's 4 VP, but also no more IT RP, and no more pressure on the Balkans from IT, which is a factor in many of my games. Holding Verona and Bologna is the key, and enough. When Verona is not taken, the line becomes longer, and with supply risk to anything south of Venice from a late round counterattack. it is an interesting theater. |

I have to say, that your defense of Italy has been quite superb, even with all of the stuff i am trying.. lol. This is the first time i am going the IT route, and not sure it is the best on the long run, but quite a learning experience here.
