Kelly, Thanks for this game, I enjoyed playing with you! You had a really tough start: I had never heard of a Union player having to play their second card of the game without the Army of the Potomac on the map. I had never thought possible for a Union player to conduct the war without an army in the field for the whole of 1861 and 1862, and did not think it possible to do so as successfully as you did. I spent the whole of the first six turns watching incredulously your ability to not only stay in the game, but even to prosper without forming any armies. In the Summer of 1862 you played the most perfectly executed and utterly devastating Major Campaign I had ever seen, resulting in the elimination of the Army of the West. This was a hard blow to morale, and it caused me to seriously doubt of the final issue of this game. I was lucky in drawing all of the discards, and this greatly helped in ultimately turning the game in the Confederates favour. I enjoyed playing such a challenging, gallant, resourceful, inventive, resilient and gentlemanly opponent as you! Of course we are engaged in our very enjoyable reverse game, and beyond that I hope our playing paths cross again soon! Thanks again, and I will communicate the end result to Stephane… |

Kelly, Hello. As there is no railway link between Washington DC and the northern map edge, Union will only receive 4SPs in the East (and not in Washington). Also, as Philadelphia PA is a Confederate controlled State Capital, the Union also loses 1 SP of reinforcements… Feel free to make any changes to your reinforcements and strategic movements… thanks! |

Kelly, hello. I just noticed that with journal #326 you built a Fort at Frederick MD when in fact the Union already had a fort there. I am happy for you to use the ard to build a fort in another location, and will wait for you to elect where to place the fort prior to making my next move. Also, at journal #330 you seem to indicate a change to SW? Is that a typo? Thanks for letting me know! |
