I don’t think this will end with me winning by just 1 VP, but if it does, I will still consider you the true winner, not just morally, but in practice as well. Thanks again. Honestly, I’ve had some bad experiences playing PoG online when it comes to player fairness, and I’d say you’re very much at the opposite end of that spectrum. |

You’re absolutely right about everything :-). I somehow got confused and thought the Germans couldn’t besiege Russian forts until Oberost was played, my mistake. I also confirm the OOS rule: there’s no need to warn the opponent about OOS resulting from combat. The only point where I see it differently is regarding the impact of losing an army. At this stage of the game and given the current map situation, I feel that would be decisive and likely lead to a win for you. I really appreciate your offer to change the move, that’s very sporting of you. At the same time, I don’t want to take anything away from your strong play. So I see two possible options: - We continue as is, and if I lose the army due to OOS, I’ll take it as a lesson for the next game. - You change the move, but gain 1 VP as compensation. Let me know what you think. |
| 103 | 3/19/2026 5:59:00 PM | Fall 1914 | Central Powers | Message |
Sure. Anyway, "feel strongly about it" isn't really the phrase I was looking for. What I'm trying to say is that if damage from a rule oversight would leave you with a bad taste, then I don't mind revising my move. |

Thanks for the correct reply Let me answer you tomorrow |
| 101 | 3/19/2026 5:09:00 PM | Fall 1914 | Central Powers | Message |
Well, one Russian army OOS isn't game-deciding... Actually it's not related to Oberost; Germans are allowed to besiege forts from the start of the game. The standard supply warnings are only required when the threat does not involve advance after combat. This one is only 50-50, and if it fails my position is a bit exposed. If you feel strongly about it I can revise though, the alternative ops move I had in mind has less upside for me, but also less risk. |
| 100 | 3/19/2026 5:03:00 PM | Fall 1914 | Allies | Message |
Yes, this is a great move. I did see it coming only this turn though. If you win the attack, I get one army OOS and it's game over. Could I ask you to do something else? Honestly I did not realize that playing Oberost would give you this opportunity. Not sure if you would have had to advise me of the OOS threat. |

Sorry, I meant to flip GE8 in Danzig. The fort in Belfort was also destroyed. GE7 advances. I think rule 12.4.4.2 means that you must eliminate the (BEF) in Brussels: "...The same principle applies in any similar situation where the full LP result cannot be satisfied but could have been satisfied had there been at least a reduced Corps available in the reserve box—the result must include an Army being permanently eliminated."
