Request: 6-sided die x 1 1 Message from United Kingdom: This is not our game. Alan and I are going to have a France v Britain in the 18th Century contest starting with Wilderness War on RTT. This is to decide who plays France all the way through. 1-3 me, 4-6 AG. Games elsewhere: if either / both of you want to play Pax Pamir 2e on Rally the Troops, let me know. It's done vey well. Also Bob, if that 1824 election game interests you enough to want to play, I'll download the Vassal from Decision. |

Request: 6-sided die x 2 6 4 Message from Soviet Union: I've checked and 5.21 says the player to the left of the one who wins the Agenda starts the card play. I'll discard Andrei Zhdanov, a 2, to play Stalin. Stalin stands up, grabs the A-Bomb issue from the table, advances it all the way along the USSR track to his chair and sits on it. This play cannot be debated (see Stalin's attribute). The die roll is Stalin's paranoia check, if the result is 2-4 then he's paranoid for the rest of the conference. |

>Inter service rivalry that is points for you two if my two Pacific fronts are too far apart? Yes. The two Pacific fronts need to be no more than one 'out' from each other. Otherwise 5VP to UK and Soviets. At the end of the game really though as are all the points. >What is the 2 points for UK for 'empty colonies'? VP Schedule F. The UK wants a post-war world where the colonial holdings are set back to where they were before the Japanese invasions (so that includes the Netherlands and France). The USA wants national self determination (see also Wilson at Versailles). Therefore any of the colonies (the dark blue boxes off the CBI track) that have no CNs or PAs in them further UK war aims. 2VP per go. That's not as much as the 3VP for having a UK PA marker there. >Are the points for the spy and other (POL/MIL) done at the time they are placed then adjusted when others place them 'at that time' or added into the calculations during scoring? At the end of each conference. It's too fiddly to do them as you go along and anyway you really tot everything up at game end. The VPs at the end of each conference give an assessment of how things are going. They are particularly useful in the final 3 or so conference. |
443 | 8/9/2022 7:11:00 AM | Turn 4 | United States | Message |
A couple things I am not clear. Inter service rivalry that is points for you two if my two Pacific fronts are too far apart? What is the 2 points for UK for 'empty colonies'? Are the points for the spy and other (POL/MIL) done at the time they are placed then adjusted when others place them 'at that time' or added into the calculations during scoring? I think we should try to get 2nd Front on the table within the next two conferences or we are all going to be behind. Perhaps we need to focus on things that give us all massive productions this coming turn? anyway - all looks okay for start of next round. |

So 1 Japanese army goes to the Central Pacific and the other goes to the CBI. Please check I've done this correctly (and updated the map correctly as well). Then we can roll for the Fronts' advances. |

Request: 6-sided die x 2 6 2 Message from Soviet Union: The first of the Japanese naval units is removed for the game. These die rolls are to place the remaining two Japanese armies. On a 1-2 Central Pacific, 3-4 Southwest Pacific, 5-6 CBI. |

Request: 6-sided die x 1 4 Message from Soviet Union: So a naval support has been lost from the Central Pacific, leaving only 3 which is just enough to attempt to advance. This die roll is to see if the Japanese lose their naval unit, see 7.64 point 5, on a 1-4 the Japanese navy is lost. |
432 | 8/7/2022 11:38:00 AM | Turn 4 | Soviet Union | Die roll request |

USSR PAs go in Yugoslavia and Poland. Now it's time to place the Axis Reserves. In Europe, from 7.62: Point 1 doesn't apply Point 2 puts 1 German army in Belorussia Point 3 - the Battle of the Atlantic is over and the German navy is out of the game, see 7.63 Point 4 puts another 4 German armies in Belorussia Point 5 puts 1 Germany army in Normandy Point 6 doesn't apply Point 7 puts the Italian army in Southern Italy Point 8 doesn't apply as all reserves have already been placed. In the Pacific, from 7.64: Point 1 doesn't apply Point 2 puts 2 Japanese armies in Manchuria Point 3 doesn't apply |

File sent. I find looking at the Chart in Vassal helps me remember what is next up. Now we are in the War Phase and Clandestine Network placement. Soviets go first as they have base 1 + 2 CNs from the 2/2 issue =3. Then USA for the base 1 CN. UK skipped as base 1 CN removed due to Turkey Negotiations on Conference card. Then back to Soviets (only) to place 2 Political Alignment markers from the 2/2 issue. |
427 | 8/6/2022 5:25:00 AM | Turn 4 | United Kingdom | Message |
That fails. UK won the Global Issue and moves right side pawn to Free Europe. Note that we have probably missed the restrictions shown along those sides of the triangle. I think it's a case of never mind. |

Request: 6-sided die x 1 1 Message from United Kingdom: 6.10 A-Bomb Research roll. The issue was won by UK so a roll is made. Soviets did not win issue so no Spy Ring advance. No production added as modifiers so basic roll of success on 4-6 to advance research. |

Have been a bit slow and confused due to the WBC break and Bob running ahead of things. That and general decay - over in Hannibal I played a card thinking I was Carthage (I'm Roman) but flipping PCs to their Roman side. Score adjustments: I'll do them all in a batch at the end and update the spreadsheet. Next up: A-Bomb Research and Theatre Leadership. |

For my first 5 - 2 in Solomon Is SWPacific area 1 more to Italy now at 3 2 more in Caroline Is Central Pacific as for my final 'bonus' we will ship up to Murmansk for the Eastern front assist. |
423 | 8/3/2022 7:49:00 PM | Turn 4 | Soviet Union | Message |
With five production to spend, I'll use one to activate the Pol-Mil 2/2 and the other four to put more offensive support markers in Belorussia (making a total of five there now). If Bob could see his way clear to putting the extra production he got for winning the European Theatre Leadership towards more offensive support in the East then I'll help with an invasion of Normandy next turn. |
422 | 8/2/2022 5:24:00 PM | Turn 4 | United Kingdom | Message |
Nick next to allocate production then Bob. When it gets to you Bob you have 5 production still to allocate as OS or Navel Markers. Then you get a bonus as you won European Theatre Leadership via the issue on your track and already have Pacific Theatre Leadership. On the assumption that you award the ETL to yourself, you will then get one more Pacific Theatre Naval or OS marker and THREE more for ETL. As placement for Normandy is pointless as we don't have Second Front issue on the table, those three need to go to Med and/or Eastern Theatre. |
421 | 8/2/2022 5:15:00 PM | Turn 4 | United Kingdom | Message |
Bob you post WBC jumped the gun a bit. Production allocation. UK go first, then Soviets, then US. All US had to do was place the Directed Offensive generated production markers which goes to Central Pacific. That requires TWO offensive support markers. I have moved on from my Final Card log not Bob's as it was going down the wrong track. UK: 3 production as OS to CBI and 2 to Med. See file. |
420 | 7/31/2022 9:42:00 PM | Turn 4 | United States | Message |
Nick you are MUCH more awake than I am apparently. Yes forgot that tidbit. Place offensive marker in Central Pacific along with the required off. marker already put there. |
419 | 7/31/2022 9:38:00 PM | Turn 4 | Soviet Union | Message |
It's late here, but I'm pretty sure that there's no point in placing the DO in Normandy as we need to have the Second Front issue (I think that's what it's called) picked for the conference and finishing in the centre of the table in order to be able to advance into Normandy, so you should probably place the DO somewhere else. |

416 | 7/29/2022 1:34:00 PM | Turn 4 | United Kingdom | Message |
Bob's USA wins the conference so that will be 3VP. Clockwise starting with UK we resolve things according to 4.23. UK and Soviets don't have directed offensives to place, but US won a US one so Bob now needs to place that where he wants. Strategic materials each give us an extra production marker. UK will have 4 + 1 for StratMats, one of which must go in CBI. Sov will have 3 + 1 for StratMats + 1 for Arctic. USA will have 6 + 1 StratMats (they won their own Production Issue so that has no effect). 1 must go to CBI and 2 to wherever the Directed Offensive is placed. |

USSR will debate that, but I'm not going to be able to make the play until this evening. |

Card 1. Play Eden, a 5. +1 bonus for a Pol-Mil issue on the Soviet track. Move the 2/2 from Soviet 6 back to the middle. |
